Its official! After a bit of waiting (9 months to be exact) little Jens showed up right on time, in the afternoon of his due date.

Here are the specs on the little fella:

• Full Name - Jens Philip Jensen. Named after my great great grandfather who moved to the USA from Denmark and Kris’ grandfather Philip Richards (yes only one ‘l’ in Philip).
• Gender - Male
• Born on - June 8th, 2005 1:45 PM
• Where - At home
• Weight - 8 lbs. 4 oz. (whew!)
• Physical Specs - very healthy, no known problems right now, other than he’s up between 11 PM and 3 AM

Kris did great, started into contractions the night before, around 1 in the afternoon her contractions jumped up to 5 minutes apart. Called the midwife, who got there just in time to get her things setup and help Kris deliver 45 minutes later. I got to catch him, so technically I guess I did the delivery (although Kris and the midwife, mainly Kris, did all the hard work). Cecilia and Isabella were present to help out at the delivery, got to help clean him off once he was out, and Isabella cut the cord. They both seemed to really enjoy the experience (although at first Cecilia was a bit concerned hearing her mother make sounds she hadn’t ever heard from her before). Because the actual delivery went so fast, we didn’t have time to fill up the birthing tub, so you’ll notice in the pictures (here) the girls swimming in a small pool/tub. We paid for the pool so we figured we’d get some use out of it.
